Rick had to make some difficult ethical decisions in The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 2 (Sick) for the safety of his group. I understood why he did what he did, but I didn’t agree with all of it. Do you think he was in the right?

Rick did make the right decision… That first guy was crazy and even though Rick was giving him the benefit of the doubt by not killing him right off the bat means something in my eyes. Once that guy showed his true colors and Rick killed him that other guy tried to kill Rick. That is a lose end, Rick needed to kill him in some way… The walkers just ended up getting him before Rick could kill him. I think it means something that they didn’t kill those other two guys.
Also, can we talk about Carl? I like that he went and got the supplies, and that he is not being so wimpy in this season. But wow he has some attitude with Lori. I mean I get it, but I would like a little more talk with Rick and Carl. Since they both hate the same women it would be nice to have a little bond come from that. I don’t know I just want to see Carl develop more in some way. I can’t wait for the birth!
I definitely agree that Rick needed to kill the first guy, since the dude was clearly out to get him. I even get why he left the second guy to rot, but I felt like it wasn’t necessary. Just like in the comic though, Rick is shaping up to be a much darker character this season. He’s starting to make the morally gray decisions that other people don’t want to deal with. I’m interested to see how that will change who he is as a character.
I also like that Carl went to grab the supplies without asking. I think it was really cool how they didn’t make a big deal out of it. He was off-screen and got the job done with little fanfare. I don’t blame him for talking back to his mom, and just like you would enjoy seeing him bond a bit more with Rick. Now that Rick’s the leader he seems to have really distanced himself emotionally from everyone else. That was evident in his conversation with Lori at the end of the episode. He’s not about making friends anymore. He’s just about survival now.
Speaking of Carl, did you notice that weird attraction/tension they’re creating between him and Hershel’s daughter? That’s kind of bizarre. Not sure where they’re going with that.
It sort of seemed like Carl and Hershel’s daughter was friendly/ flirty as first. Since she is so much older then him it is a bit strange but I can only imagine that is the way the world would kind of end up being… everyone has needs! Also, it makes sense for Carl to like her since there are not many other options but for her its a bit strange. However, she did not like how he was talking to Lori. But this just shows the difference in these two families. One being very close, and respectful and trying to survive and the other just trying to survive.
It does make sense considering their lack of options, but it’s still weird haha. He’s lucky he didn’t get smacked. Zombie apocalypse or not I don’t think I could have gotten away with backtalking to my parents like that.
